Chapter 3 : The Proposal

Meet our 3rd shopaholic : Papri Roy
Occupation : student and tutor
Complexion : I dont do make up
Height : 5'3" + 3" catwalk
Motto : "im in Retail theapy , prescribed by my doctor, hunh!"

"Fast!! Open the dam door you lazy bum!!" Anushka was literally banging the door like a super horney gorilla ( in high heels and like 100 kilos underweight. )
"Stop bitch! She is coming!" Sunayna tried to calm her down.
"Or may be she is cuming right now! "
They were standing in front of Papri"s pg room for 10 minutes,  or may be more than that. But papri is not opening the door,
"Wait a sec girls plzz!" Papri shouted from behind the closed doors.
Sunayna was worried now. Why is she taking so much time to open a door when she has been proposed few houres ago!! Is there something wrong!!
Anushka got hotter , "Hey Anuj are you there?? Making out whith your fiancé??"
And the door opened.  Papri looked radiant as always .
"What took you so long?" One of them asked.
"I..I had applied a fruit face mask!" She said sheepishly.
"WHAT!!! And you let us sweat in the hottest corridor of yours !" Said Anushka, most of the time she can't understand papri's passion for skin care, "Have you started your wedding skin care regime !?! " she pinched.
"Oh stop it!! " said Sunayna, "papri, show the ring!! "

"What ring?" She seemed surprised. 

"The engagement ring!?" Said Sunayna.

"Is this New York? Or Paris! This is Kolkata girls! People like us do not get proposed with diamonds! Here people share their love and the desire to unite with eachother and that is what we call a proposal. Stop watching those English serials , life here is not the same, you girls r actually living in a make believe world, where you expect things to happen the way it happens in L.A!! " she paused , but started again, the other two did not interrupt. "and yes, he said 'I love you', and I said 'me too'. "

"Me too!! Only that!!" Anushka's mouth dropped.

"Anyway you guys are getting married,  right!" Sunayna wanted to confirm. 

Papri nodded.

Papri was the virgin Marie of the shopaholics. She never even kissed a guy until the day Anuj proposed her. Anuj Sengupta, is a handsome young doctor . In his late 20's , probably 27 or 28. Papri and Anuj's parents arranged their marriage in a way when Anuj's family moved to the same neighbourhood.  When Papri's girl palls heard that they danced in joy and excitement.  They almost decided what they are going to wear in all those wedding functions. They were also relieved to think that finally Papri will be over that jack ass Suman. Finally she will be moving on in a better life.

Now who is this Suman! Suman Samanta was Papri"s ultimate crush. She confessed that she never ever loved or had crush on anyone other than Suman. Suman was a senior in her school. She still can see the day in HD , when she first noticed Suman talking to a girl of his class. He was so tall, his broad shoulders were inviting Papri to rest her head on it. His chest looked so strong that it felt like the wall of China, protectingfrom everything evil . And those strong hands, how will she feel if he hugs her tightly,  it will be the the cosiest nest a human could imagine! Papri was in love indeed but sadly it was one sided. Suman never gave her any special attention. She always tried to find a way to talk to him. When Suman met with Papri's college friends he became interested to know Anushka very closely! And he almost got kicked in his balls by Anushka. 

Suman tormented and tortured Papri in many ways. He knew about Papri's affection for him but he chose to use her for his entertainment. He talked to her in phone for nights, he told her about his female crushes. He started disturbing Sunayna and Anushka by texting them gross sayaris. Papri used to cry her heart out, Anushka used to be mad at her for crying and Sunayna used be worried and disgusted at the same time! Then one day Papri saw on facebook that Suman is in a relationship with a very fake looking girl . More crying and more counselling came after that obviously. 

But that Suman Chapter was over now, at least that was what the shopaholics thought. 

Chapter 2 : BFF

Meet our 2nd Shopaholic : Anushka Banerjee
Occupation: freelance model and yes, a final year student
Complexion : Mac NC42
Height : 5'8''+ 5" Jimmy Choo
Motto : "Shop till you drop his pants! "

 

 

"You know the real reason why I love Christan Grey?" said Anushka very thoughtfully ," not because I like bondage. I don't! I can NOT be that submissive, never. BDSM is not for me,. well may be occasionally ! .. but that's not what I was saying.... Yes the reason I love that 50 Shades book is, If I were Ana I would SHOP, SHOP, SHOP! That f*****g guy is so Rich!!"
"You could handle him better indeed!" said Sunayna in an equally serious tone.
These two friends were at Zara,a bar cum restaurant. It was the "Ladies Night out". They always come this day for the free drinks.
" most of the rich guys are either too proud or sadist like Christan Grey." Sunayna took a little sip from her glass of vodka with cranberry juice.
"not all. Adi is pretty rich!"
"His parents are rich,not him! He wants to become a self made man. He doesn't want their money. That's good. but, you know what he told me last night?!  Baby, I may not be able to give you a big diamond for our engagement. Can you believe!!"
"No way!! Have you seen Kim's engagement ring? It's a white rock!! "
"Umm, Adi is not Kane Anu! God, he will never propose!!" cried Sunayna sadly.
"Come on you know he will!! He needs some time!" Anushka tried to console her knowing that how much Sunayna wants to get married soon, it's her ultimate dream.
"Ya, he will, when I'll be like 26! What if I don't look great as a bride then!!"
"Are you crazy! You are 22 only. And people don't look old at 26 Su!! Don't panic" said Anushka, " marriage is an weird affair.Though i love all the wedding functions, dressing up, make up,"
"and wedding shopping!! Oh how much I want to experience that!!" Sunayna took a deep breath, "Currently I'm following a blog called vogue and vittles . There's an awesome wedding diary by the cute blogger! Check it out when you can."
"You know, When I'll get married,I'll wear a gown in one of the occasions, I was thinking lately :) " said Anushka.
"And who will be your MAN dear? Rishi? Koushik? or that photographer you are dating currently?" Sunayna pinched her BFF. Suddenly Anushka's cell phone rang," Yo babe! ..............WHAT!!!...........He PROPOSED!!"
"" Who? to whom?"
"Yes,yes we are on our way!" Anushka put the mobile back to her purse. "Papri called. Anuj have just proposed her!!"
"Whaaat!! With a big one I guess?"
"Let's find out!! Let's Go."

They left Zara and on their way they bought a spa set, a box of sugar free chocolates, the latest Wedding Affair issue, act-two popcorn packets, a packet of tissues , tooth picks and a dvd of Suraj Barjatya's film "Vivah", starring Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao ( Because Sunayna couldn't stop herself from shopping ) for their dearest friend Papri. Anushka also bought a honeymoon special condom pack, a gift in advance is always special, she thought! 

Chapter 1 : Discovery

Motto : "Shop. And let Shop."

Some say life is too complicated, some say it only becomes complicated when the dress you want to buy is too expensive and your account balance is low. Really really LOW!! Sunayna looked at the forever new dress like a sad little puppy. What if suddenly somehow someone mistakenly submit some cash in her account! Yes that's her ultimate dream, as of now at least! She can not turn away from the dress.  What if she leaves this one and someone else buys it! Someone else will look hot!!
"Do I really need this dress? It's after all from the spring-summer collection! And it's the second week of October , I should buy a sweater or may be a blazer! ... Urrghh only school teachers can give such reasons! And I'm not one! " Sunayna was disgusted, " Why do these stores come up with a spring collection far before winter!!"
She took the dress again, felt its softness. God, how much would Adi love to touch it if I wear it, she thought. I will pair it with my nude sky high heals and with a bright purse and what about the hair, high wavy pony or loose curls, kind of a careless look! A smile was curved on her face when she pictured it all. "Hey , what about power of attraction!? I'm dreaming about the dress and how will i style it, so won't it come to me!! Won;t someone just gift this one to me!!"

"Hello beautiful ladies!" suddenly the man at the counter announced," I'm going to announce the winner of the "lucky high society girl contest"!!"
"OMG!! How did i forget!! I also entered this contest.. God God !! fingers crossed!" She closed her eyes tightly!
" And the winner is Mrs. Sugandha Maitra!! Congrats to her!!"
"What! Can you please come again!?" ups,, she said that loudly enough.
"Sugandha Maitra. Is that you Mam' ?"
What if I just say yes I'm. What will they ask me to prove my identity ! Voter's ID ? the name is a printing mistake ,i may say.. and I didn't have the time to change it!.. Or what if I say I'm a secret agent and that's my fake name, my actual id is this , I'm Sunayna Sen! That sounds pretty convincing !
"Umm"as Sunayna was about to make her way to the counter someone said, "Oi Monuli!! How much tall you have become!!!" All the people in the store looked at Sunayna, even the mannequins !
"Boro Pishi!!" She was shocked to see her old aunt in this shop, "What are you doing here?"
"Oh don't ask! I was in the ground floor buying some kid's garments for your cousins baby boy when they send me this sms.. See .. I cant get it!! "
Sunayna took it, . "Umm , did you enter for the "Lucky high society girl" contest? It's saying that the results will be announced today."
"Aw! May be your cousin did it for me! "
"Well, they have already announced it. Some Mrs Sugandha Maitra have won it!!"
" Really? What will they give!?"
"The prize is a gift voucher worth 5000!!"
" But there is no baby's clothes here! Such a useless store for me! What will I do with that gift voucher!"
"Whaat ??"
Mrs Sugandha smiled and made her way to the counter.
Sunayna left the store few minutes later with a big packet and a big smile. Her boro pishi gave the whole amount to her!
 How weird it is. Sometimes we don't even know the real names of our closest family members! Their names gets hidden by Ma, Mashi,Pishi or Dida, names we give them." Sugandha ! Such a wonderful name!" she thought.Sunayna will never forget this name.
